PakistanSindh2014MICSCleanFuel
Clean fuel follows the definition of SDG indicator 7.1.2 Proportion of population with primary reliance on clean fuels and technology.
Data Source: MICS (Sindh MICS 2014, MICS5)
The following data are considered for this analysis:
• Household-level data (HH - Household Survey), households that cook
• Clean fuels: electricity, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas and biogas. Kerosene is not counted as clean
The standard LNOB analysis for Clean fuel includes the following circumstances:
• Wealth of the household: top 60 or bottom 40 (of the wealth distribution)
• Residence: urban or rural
• Highest education level in the household (any member): lower (primary or less), secondary or higher
Note: The MICS5 report publishes the use of solid fuels for cooking (MICS indicator 3.15) as a share of household members (Key Findings Report, solid fuel use indicators). Clean fuel is not its complement: kerosene and other fuels are neither clean nor solid.
MICS5 has no functioning (disability) module, so this indicator has no analysis including disability.
