The analysis "including disability", is formulated with additional circumstances added to the standard model.
Sri Lanka BRIGHT 2024-2025 includes a variable which inquires if the individual has any chronic illness and/or any severe functional difficulties.
Individuals aged 18+ who respond affirmatively are considered having chronic illness and/or severe disability.

The analysis "including ethnicity", is formulated with additional circumstances added to the standard model.
Sri Lanka BRIGHT 2024-2025 includes the following Ethnicities:
• Sinhala
• Tamil
• Sri Lankan Tamil
• Indian Tamil
• Sri Lankan Moors/Muslim
• Burgher
• Malay
• Other
Note: The group Minor includes all ethnicities listed above except for the first one, Sinhala, which represents the major ethnicity group in the sample.

Internet access measures the share of households who have access to the internet at any location. It relates closely the SDG indicator 17.8.1 which measures the proportion of population who used the internet from any location in the last three months.

Informal employment measures the proportion of employed individuals who are daily waged workers, salaried/wage workerks without written agreements, contributing family workers, paid interns or apprentices without agreements or unpaid family members. It broadly follows the definition of SDG indicator 8.3.1 which measures the proportion of informal employment in total employment.

Inadequate housing measures the proportion of urban households who are living in dwellings that have inadequate conditions based on several criteria, namely accces to basic drinking water, access to improved sanitation, finished and durable or permanent materials used in the construction of floors, wallks and roofs and whether the household is overcrowded with more than 3 people per room within the dwelling. It relates closely to SDG 11.1.1 which measures the share of slum population in urban areas.

Climate smart agriculture measures the proportion of agricultura/farming households who are using climate smart practices including the use of climate resistant varieties, rainwater harvesting technicques, crop diversification, crop and livestock integration, muclhing and thatching and microirrigation (drip/sprinkler).

Climate resistant varities measures the proprotion of agricultural households who have used in the past five years or are still using them.

Climate shock measures the proportion of households report being affected by any climate-related shocks (i.e. floods, landslides, drought or severe heat, crop pests/diseases, livestock diseases, poor fishing catches and damage and loss of procutive assets by climate shocks) during the reference period with moderate or severe impact. It relates to SDG 13.1.1 which measures the number od etaths, missing persons, and directly affected persons atttributed to disasters per 100,000 population.
