Mobile Phone (Household) follows the definition of SDG indicator 5.b.1 to enhance the use of enabling technology, in particular information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women.
Data Source: MICS (Punjab MICS 2014, MICS5)
The following data are considered for this analysis:
• Household-level data (HH - Household Survey)
• Households are considered as owning a mobile phone if any household member owns a mobile telephone
The standard LNOB analysis for Mobile Phone (Household) includes the following circumstances:
• Wealth of the household: top 60 or bottom 40 (of the wealth distribution)
• Residence: urban or rural
• Highest education level in the household (any member): lower (primary or less), secondary or higher
Note: This indicator deviates from SDG 5.b.1 because it is composed at household level. The MICS5 women's questionnaire has no question on owning a mobile phone, so household ownership is shown instead, as in the report (report Table HH.7).
MICS5 has no functioning (disability) module, so this indicator has no analysis including disability.
